What is fat and where does it come from?
Fat is a lipid that our body uses to store energy, that is, it is a water-insoluble structure. When we get more energy than we use, our body stores this excess energy in the form of fat. The fat is then taken up by fat cells located in the body, so they look like small balloons that inflate as the fat comes in. Fat cells are found in our body in scattered ways. Where and how many fat cells are has a little to do with our genetic predisposition. In October, as we get older, our metabolic rates change and there may be a change in how much and where fat is stored.
